Install looks great! Where are the amps located? Behind the seats/in front of the box?
Also, why does everyone put their v1's UNDER the mirror. In my RSX I have mine hardwired and mounted ABOVE and you can barely notice it. I know some cars have that tinted matrix which blocks it, but I don't think the Z has it. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I had the Pioneer AVIC 900BT Primere in my Audi TT and it was nice and they just did the ground thing to bypass the parking brake safety. It took about 30 secs for everything to come on except the radio, it would come on right away. I guess its like a computer and needs to boot up. But it had everything. But after a few months it would just reboot itself while on and little things like that made me not like it as much.
Some pics, one with my girl Shakira oh and I got it from Amazon for $500 new with warrenty.

Steve, the Pioneer 2.0 firmware update fixed that particular problem back in February ’09. Pioneer’s 3.0 firmware upgrade which was available this past summer added speed more features to the operating system which I think (and cnet and others) really make it one of the best HU’s available. Amazon is the best for the lowest price. |

I had the 2.0 update and it still took the phone and ipod about 30 secs to get setup. The radio would come on right away if thats the last thing you had playing. All in all 30 secs was no prob it was the rebooting at wierd times and the phone messing up at times that gave me a bad taste for the pioneer. But the facia kit and all made for a perfect fit and all steering controls worked.

Steve, I think the weird rebooting might be because the power source (or ground) is interrupted. Does this happen when you go over a transverse joint in the bituminous concrete asphalt or an uneven road? Sometimes the smallest bump can cause a power interruption if the connection isn’t fully secured. This could explain why the HU reboots. |

I have a Kenwood in my Explorer and it’s a great HU but the Navigation is several steps below the Pioneer. Alpine produces good amps but the Nav in the HU really sucks! Many videos on youtube! |
