Default Pioneer App Radio 4 install and SWC options (HELP)

First : is it necessary to purchase a bezel kit or can it fit with out one ?

Second: which SWC would you guys find to work the best and effectively.
I was reading some success with axxess and some with PAC . But most of the threads seem to be older so just as a update which do you guys finds works best ?

Anything else you guys wanna add please feel free thanks

1. Get the bezel. Some radios might fit in the opening, but it doesn't look right.

2. Pretty sure axxess is the better one. There are lots of threads on this already (e.g. For those with aftermarket headunits and steering wheel control)

Thanks for the reply ,

This unit came with a like a edge around it that's removable so I'll see how it looks I'll also measure it and if there's a gap then I'll get the bezel ..

Ok and axxxess huh, is that what you use ?

Nope. I haven't spent any money on stereo mods. But I've seen plenty of people on this forum complain about the PAC and then switch to the axxess successfully

I have a 13 also and I installed my 4100 without the bezel. I ordered a new bezel after a month or so. The gaps around the edges bothered me. I didnt hook up steering wheel controls, cant help there.

You don't need the bezel kit. I have the same headunit and use the ASWC-1 with no issues.

Nice ! Thought so good to know . How do you like your nut ? Any lagging ? Where do you mount the mic , on the pillar like most people ? Any advise ?

I like the unit a lot. I haven't seen any lagging at all while using CarPlay, but sometimes the bluetooth doesn't connect (happened like twice out of hundreds of times). I mounted the mic on my visor and ran the wire up the A-pillar.

If you decide to buy the bezel (I would... even slight improper fitment would annoy me forever), buy the Scosche piece and not the Metra piece.

For steering remote, I bought a PAC CP5 but haven't installed it so I can't comment on if it sucks or not. Most people get the ASWC and like it. I have also heard good thinks about the iDatalink Maestro SWC.

I use the aswc all day for steering wheel controls. Just follow my videos and you should have it up and running in a jiffy. I can't stand the PAC for a few reasons the big one is needing in wire resistors installed which are fragile. For pioneers you should get a dash kit as they do have a good gap around them.

I did the install myself. As long as you have a soldering iron and the wiring harness for the 370z it's super simple.

Here's a terrible picture of mine installed without a dash kit.

Their newest model, the CP5 does not require the resistors IIRC... and you can program it with your phone.

How well it works, I can not comment on since I haven't installed mine...

I have a spare wire harness and antenna adapter if you need them. Just pay the shipping
