Will this fit if I replace the stock radio? I'm afraid of the gear coming in the way of the screen while popping out?

Any idea if its possible?

I agree do a double din not a flip out. Look at the kenwood 6140 as well when looking for a new one.

I will say when I get my Z I will not be doing a double din. I will be going with a single din alpine 9886 because it will have more sound quality and more ability to produce a better output to my amps than double dins.

Should have no problem with double dins, already saw installed pics of those.... the idea was to be able to keep my current pop-out and not buy a new one.

Has anyone done this before? Shift the gear then pop out :-) hahaha..

Also, has anyone ever thought of getting the base and install a pop out (and NOT a double din... again, double din is surely possible) in the storage box area where the Nav fits in?

I think depth (prob 9-7/8" for a motorized unit) would be your biggest issue with that.

EDIT: 6-1/2" not counting RCA and other plugs. guess I overestimated heh

I am thinking that screen is going to be sticking out a bit to much IMO.

Actually owning a Z, I can comment here. For a single din Pioneer car stereo and using the top slot of the Metra dash kit…………..you will have no problems.

I can't see why it wouldn't fit but if you use the cubby a lot like i do, the top of the screen might get in the way when it's opened. I guess you could tilt the screen down to get to the cubby but I say go for it. does your unit have a detachable button panel?
