I did find out that the Ilx-007 DOES have a Bluetooth chip and antenna in it, but is UN-activated until some unforeseen future iOS/CarPlay update. |

I was looking at that one as well, keep us updated in here with that install if you don't mind. I wouldn't mind seeing a review. It really is strange that the 007 doesn't have bluetooth, would be interesting if it is installed but not activated, but seems strange that they would need to wait.

Alpine ILX-007
I installed ine-w960
I have the ine-w940 in my subbie for over 3 years love the features of these units with Bluetooth, navi, backup cams, and DVD playback they work great with iPhones. The customization with audio is also very nice you can control every speaker and customize the sound to your car. This unit is a lot cheaper than the one you are looking at I purchased mine from Amazon |

Ugh, Alpine. I try to like them...
IMO, they just can't keep up with Kenwood or Pioneer. Personally, I'll most likely be picking up the Kenwood DNX-893S. Previously had a DNX7120 before I left the US. Last edited by Silverstone; 06-17-2016 at 10:29 PM. |

I just finished installing my iLX-007 yesterday. Like it so far. I did install mine in the cubby area like the factory nav screen. I'll do a more in depth review after I have spent more time with it.
Here is a quick look at the cubby install. It is a wok in progress. A couple of things need to be fabricated to cover up the gaps. At the moment I'm concerned with functionality. I'll pretty it up later. Before:

Looks like it's going to be nice. What are the two little screens? And what will you use to fill in the gap? |

I'm exploring doing either fiber glass or carbon fiber. Still looking around for alternatives. One friend suggested I make something out of wood and then use that as a mold for what ever material I choose to use. The two smaller screens are controllers for some after market bits. The bottom one is my Tien EDFC Active controller. It controls the stiffness of my coilovers. The top one is my Racelogic traction control controller. I could sit here and talk awhile about Racelogic but it would be a little off topic. Let just say my VDC is only on when I forget to turn it off. There are some good threads on this forum explaining Racelogic. Racelogic Group Buy Feeler, Part 2

Sweet thanks for the info I will look into them!
I would try the wood as well and than use that as the template to make what your are going for can't wait to see the finished product. I love custom work I'm planning a custom shallow mount sub behind my seat into the plastic back there with a small amp and fan for it back there as well |
