3D printer Tweeter upgrade.

This is my first post ever on any forum, so forgive me if i make any mistakes. I just recently bought a 09 Z Touring Black on black without nav with Bose.

The factory bose tweeters produce terribly highs most 2.5 inch speakers dont do a good job as woofers or as tweeters, so this is what I made.

Then printed it

Then assembled using 1 inch tweeters which in my opinion outperform 2.5 inch tweeters.

Results.

I'm not sure if anyone is interested in these but I can print them if anyone else needs them. Just wanted to share. These tweeters really made a big difference in the highs that i feel the bose system lacks.

Kool print. 3d printers are so cool. To bad i really dont have a need or much use for one. Arethose Optima tweets? They look like it.

Good job.

They are Pioneers since they're not being amped(besides low power Bose amp) I chose something basic that was clear that I personally like. Thanks Guys!! I love my Z. I have to say I spent a lot of time reading here on this forum before I bought one, couldn't be happier.

Welcome to the club man.
I really don't like how Bose speakers sound at all so I will eventually replace all the speakers and get some Focal component speakers which will be night and day. At the moment all I upgraded was the sub as the factory ones are horrible and there's no lows at all.

I have the same tweeters....I just hacked out the cone on the stockers and installed the tweeter into the old frame...

I made up some similar adapters when I put infinity components in my 2011.... I don't know if it was the speakers or what..but those tweeters in the factory location firing off the windshield into my face were waaaaayyyyy too harsh for me.

IF they are CMMD, then that is normal. CMMD are super piercing hence why I prefer softer silk tweeter. My focals are super piercing too. I have my tweeter settings in the (-) because it hurts on long trips.

I'd love a set how much?

Very nice.

I don't have access to a fancy schmancy 3D printer so had to make some out of some plastic I had kicking around the garage :p

3d printing is quite cool... But this is a job that can be done with basic tools in probably less time, as ChaseZ has done. Plexi, and sheet plastic is super-cheap.
Not trying to burst your bubble at all.... I wish I had the ability to do 3D printing, and I'm jealous of those that can..!
