Ripped cargo cover. Repair suggestions?

Last year I overstuffed my trunk with fishing gear and ripped the corner of my cargo cover. Its about a 4-5 inch tear, about 2 inches from the bar. I was considering using some 3m tape or one of those self-adhesive air mattress/wader patches found in the camping section of wal-mart. Not sure if its preferable to stitch in view of the stress the cargo cover is generally under.

Has anyone else had this issue? If so, how did you repair it?

Also, I just realized I posted this in the wrong section, can an admin please move it to the correct section?

I'd get it sewn. The glue on stick-on patches may fail due to the high heat encountered in a car. Most upholstery shops should be able to do the job.
