I just assumed the Nav system iPod input would allow you to control the iPod through the stereo system. Since that’s not the case, what’s the point?

I have the Nav with the i-pod connector and you can control the i-pod through the stereo and the steering wheel controls. Nissan actually has one of the best i-pod interfaces in the business. I can access my playlists and everything. Basically the nav screen turns into an i-pod screen without the album cover artwork. I think it is great that Nissan put a USB connector in the 2010 models for those people that may have MP3 players that aren't made by Apple.

Well that makes sense. I'm planning to install an ipod control unit and HD radio adapter in the spring.

Which radio do you have? The base or the Bose without Nav?

Here is what you'll need for the non-nav Bose system:
PAC uPAC-NIS2 NISSAN IPOD ADAPTER 5V USB*::*NISSAN AUX IPOD MP3 ADAPTER (INFINITI)*::*AUX AND IPOD ADAPTERS*::*OEM Factory Aux Ipod Adapters & Changers*::*AUTOTOYS I've seen it on eBay a little cheaper. There is also an add-on HD radio receiver that plugs in to this. I plan to get both in the spring.

I would hope it is true, I wrote it.
Unless you want to bypass the amp and system all together the only reason someone would want ot upgrade the head unit in the bose system is for more options like ipod and sirius and dvd's. It is not going to help your audio quality at all.

I can't speak of the 370, but in the RSX I eventually changed everything... (focal comps. external amps, separate sub, new wiring... etc) and to tell you the truth, it was 100x's better in the end, but it was 90x's better with just swapping out the HU.
