CarMode apps
Just wanted to point out what I consider the 2 best looking and functioning carmode apps for us tablet mounters. These are both for Android
Car Widget - https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....car.home.free and Automate - https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...spice.automate Car Widget is nothing more than a resizable widget with shortcuts to whatever app you want. Because it has custom themes and is resizable, you can make the widget fill your entire homescreen and look like a traditional carnav system, such as the way Apple CarPlay homescreen looks. It has event triggers to wake up and sleep the screen and so forth. I use this app mostly Automate is supposed to be an AndroidAuto clone. The benefit here is that some of us like what Google did to the UI for a driving experience, placing a constant nav bar at the bottom and focusing things on strictly navigation and music for the most part. This makes utilizing the tablet a bit easier than messing around with Spotify or Waze in real time. The other plus is that it removes some of the annoying restrictions put in place by Google with AA. It also has the same event triggers for when to wake and sleep the tablet. |
