Default Display dimmer on aftermarket head unit?

Just got my pioneer 8000NEX installed, nice unit with one annoyance. If I set the brightness on the screen to a nice level during the day,its far to distracting during the evening, don't want to keep fiddling with it.I suspect my installer forgot to connect the "dimmer wire" from the 8000NEX?This unit does have a dimmer feature that dims the display when the headlights are turned on according to the manual. There is a orange/white wire from the deck that needs to be connected to the headlight switch like the rest of the dash.Question.....Where is this wire and is it hard to find?Any help would be much appreciated as I want to be armed with info heading back to the installer.

Definitely sounds like something didn't get connected mine dims just fine. Pull the head unit out and you should be able to find it pretty easily.

Orange wire behind the radio will go do a loose orange or orange white wire in the harness....unless the installer cut it off.
