Not sure what the differences between the 7000 and 8000 are, but I love my 8000. Thing has been impressive with streaming music from iphone 6 (Pandora). Phone calls have been crystal clear both ways. Back up camera picture has been very clear. SD and thumb drive works great. I like the way the GPS is laid out and how it can be configured. The steering wheel control adapter has worked flawlessly with it (volume, source and scroll). Should also mention the 4V pre-outs worked perfect with the bose system. Sounds great even without the bazooka sub (the little bose sub sounds much better with this HU, too). I like the EQ - many bands to adjust and 2 custom options. You can make the keys any color and the backround (dynamic) wallpapers are very cool! Those can also change colors. The look and finish seem to be made for the vehicle (looks factory). Highly recommend.

Used this kit: Eclipse Luma10 RGB LED Accent Kits But, I upgraded the remote/controller to RF instead of IR: Luma10 Series - R108 Multicolor LED Controller - With RF Remote Control This kit has many different modes, colors and brightness control. I chopped off the 12V transformer from the cable and hard wired it to the back of the power outlet since a car is 12V already (use red wire for positive, black to chassis). I used a 3mm LED from amazon for the overhead ambient light: http://www.amazon.com/3mm-LED-Bulb--...s=3mm+blue+led Turned out to be a perfect match. Oh, and I also went down one resistor size to up the brightness a little bit. Last edited by Magnetic Z; 12-18-2015 at 07:11 PM. |

considering u have to plug the iphone into the HU to run carplay, i dont see how convenient it is vs placing your phone on a proclip charger and just working the features off ur iphone while u stream audio via bt. maybe for video? but my iphone6s has a fairly large screen for nav. i have a nuvi in my Z running ecoRoute so i dont want another device next to my 4500BT and nuvi. lol too many screens. i suppose if i didnt have the nuvi and ecoRoute, carplay is good. |

Yea....I hear you.....I wasn't really getting it for the CarPlay app to be honest......I have a 6s Plus so the screen is plenty big on my phone as you said. I am trying to get a decent head unit with nice features.....but thinking about it.....it's a sports car.....I literally will never play or watch a Movie......ever. I like the look of the double din touch screen, but do want Bluetooth, and bluetooth audio streaming to the head unit as well.
