Touch screen double din Headunits

A question for the masses.....

I am interested in installing or having installed a Pioneer Double din unit. Am I able to use the factory bracket or do I need to purchase a trim and bracket kit?

>> Yes you will need to buy a Double Din kit. It should have all you need.

Lol.....exactly Ron! That's why I am asking....I thought I saw a couple people take the basket mount off a new touch screen double din.....and use the factory radio Z mounts to mount the new radio? Maybe I was wrong.....?

I know I'm super late, but I did a Kenwood DNX9990HD install/swap using the stock dash kit (370Z Sport - Non Tech Package). I had ordered the Metra kit for $24 from Crutchfield just in case, but ended up returning it.

I have heard the kit reduces some of the gap between aftermarket radio and dash kit, but the quality of it was subpar in my opinion vs the stock trim panel. So I live with the slight gap. cant see it at night, and during the day i'm looking everywhere but there. Not worth the $24 in my opinion, but YMMV.

I bought the Pioneer AVH270BT Double DIN, I used the stock brackets from the factory radio with zero problems.
