I was looking at getting a passport max...but then saw this on the website and man. But the price tag is pretty steep for a radar detector.

I am probably going to get one, was going to wait until black Friday to see if they run any deals. I'm thinking they won't do anything though.

I get these at wholesale prices through work man. I paid $300 for my passport max when it first came out. I assume I'll get the same type of discount on this one so more than likely will be buying this for a bit less than $650

Funny how when the V-1 came out Escort referred to the directional arrows as nothing more than a "gimmick." Now that it is off-patent--PRESTO--it's right front and center on their features list... ;)

I'll stick with V-1. Why? 2 reasons: Continually updated over time to be the best performing unit tested on the market--but as it's advanced YOU NEVER HAVE TO PAY FULL PRICE AGAIN for a new advanced one. (1) No planned obsolescence here. (2) After 6 or 7 years of heavy use on my first V-1, it went haywire. Boom. Mailed in my unit along with a flat fee $35 repair check and a week later it comes back good as new WITH MY CHECK ENCLOSED. I call Valentine and ask if it's some mistake and the woman puts me right through to Mike Valentine. He looks up my serial number and says, "oh yeah--I remember that one. A solder connection came loose. That should never happen--so I sent your repair check back to you in the box."

These two reasons are how you win customers like me, who notice the difference, FOR LIFE.
