USB port issues.

Couldn't find a thread with this exact issue.

I have a USB stick with my music plugged into the port. Any little touch or even if I close the arm rest lid a little harder then usual, the stick disconnects and I have to pull it in and out a few times for it to connect.

Anybody else have this issue? Should I get the port replaced while I still have warranty?

Thank you.

I would try another usb stick.

If the issue continues? Yea see about getting it replaced. :)

This. The contacts on either one is probably screwed up and this is the easiest way to tell which one it is. If it's an older USB stick it's probably just worn.

I believe this is quite a common problem. It's the connection not the usb stick. I replaced mine with a USB socket i had at home (a replacement Nissan one is very expensive for what it is!). I removed the cup holder to gain access, cut the wires on the old one and removed the port from its mount then mounted mine in the original position and reconnected the wires. It now works much better. Will have a look if i've got any pics

Or just get an extended USB port like one with a cable so there's no tension when you shut the lid on it. Btw could you text me cooltoy? 619-408-4560

If you replace, the charger/connector and use an iPhone 6, iPad etc.., you may want the 2.1amp/12watt adapter. The iPhone 6 battery is designed to accept a higher amp. The current setup in the 370 is the smaller amp designed for the smaller battery's used in the iPhone 5 and previous. I could not get it to play and charge, so I just got a cigaret lighter USB with the larger amps and forgot about it.
I talked to Nissan about it. They agreed they are behind the times on this port, but told me it would void my warranty if I upgraded. Lol

It's just for my USB stick.

If it's under warranty, and you can confirm it's the port, I would definitely lean that direction. But replacing it with a new port yourself is probably not too difficult. If you go this route, I would definitely look at getting one with higher amperage rating (3A is what I would look for). Even if it's just for a USB stick at this time - some newer ones these days (faster and higher capacity) require more power than the average USB stick.

Using a different USB stick seems to have worked. Thanks everyone for the help.
