While I have your attention, I pulled the interior out of the hatch. Like many, I lost two of those white clips into no-mans land.

Or can I pick those up somewhere? But, the rear is gutted. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/09...4c0db6b0b6.jpg |

Bone, don't mind the little one in the back. He's just scared of what he don't understand.

Well, a blast of 120psi air and the clip came flying out. Well, one of them anyway. I'm beginning to think that one that looks chewed up didn't have a clip to begin with. I fished my scope up there and I don't see it. I saw the other one.
They are a buck a piece up at the dealer. I'm going to run up and grab a few to have on hand. |

I lost a few on my turbo install. I don't know where it went, just that they are gone.

That has to be the easiest door panel I've ever pulled off in my life.

Time to make the donuts... I mean door speaker adapters.

I know you already started but, I'm not a fan of those MDF spacers. The inside of the door is not exactly dry. It gets wet and humid in there. The MDF adsorbs a lot of moisture and break down with time.
I simply ripped the speaker part out of the original speaker. I kept the outside plastic part and mounted the new speaker to that. Just don't over tighten and you will be okay. It leaves a clean install and perfect fit. YzGyz |

I have some Kilz. Perhaps that can prolong water absorption.

Thus far, this has been the easiest car I've ever gutted. Gotta love Japanese design simplicity.

I have read some say running the wires into the doors is a pain. This is what I did and it only took two minutes.
http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/09...13054a4cd4.jpg Get you some of this steel wire. It's easy to fish though the rubber conduit and you can see where it's poking to squeeze and reshape it. Once you get it though, attach the wire and pull it though. I pierced the center of the speaker wire and ran the steel wire though for good grab. Tape smooths the points. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/09...bf84444ed8.jpg |
Sadly, my factory dash speakers must go under the knife.

Done for today. All that's left is to hook up everything in the hatch and start tweaking. |
