Axxess ASWC-1 Help
Hello I posted this in the sticky for the ASWC-1 but got no response and I'm guessing its just because nobody checks that sticky but a new post might get a hit so here it goes
So I need some help I have a clarion nx702 and the aswc. My wiring is pink to red/gray. And blue to blue/gray. Grounded to a head unit bolt. And red to red. And the 3.5mm male to female of head unit The programming unit has power and the LEDs function but I'm having an issue programming. I can enter the auto programming mode and it will perform this process. -rapid blinking after reset, -then hold Vol up until slow blink begins -then I get my 7 green blinks (which all appear to be short blinks) -then I get my 3 red blinks indicating a clarion head unit. -then I get a slow red blink green blink red blink green blink continuously. I do not see a slow red blink / slow green blink continuous in the troubleshooting guide. When I try the manual programming mode, when I hold Vol+ to start the first programming, it never goes solid, it will simply go slow red blink slow green blink continuous. I don't know what this code means and am therefor lost. Any help you could provide would be phenomenal. Thanks, KBC |

Have the same problem with mine when I updated my JVC decks firmware, my first thought was the wiring but everything seems ok, I have another ASWC sitting in my bus I'm going to switch out to the 370z this weekend when I have time, it's already programmed for a JVC deck so I hope it'll just work.
I also updated the firmware on the ASWC, didn't help, try switching the pink to blue/gray and the blue to red/gray.

If you are getting a slow red pulse then green pulse continuous that means that the process failed. After further examination, I discovered my wires were not properly connected. I went in and undid my connections and soldered them on. Then I was given the proper green flashing sequence. (2 of the 7 should flash longer) which means that initially one of the wires was not connected. After That the auto programming finished and when it finished I was presented with a solid red led. Only the volume buttons worked but then manual programming worked exactly as it should. So it all comes down to my wiring being bad. Which the ASWC told me by giving all short green flashes, meaning no wires connected. I read somewhere in my instruction book that some connections can introduce additional resistance which can mess up the system, fortunately soldering introduces 0 (theoretical) ohms. Hope this helps, not sure why firmware update would make it fail if it functioned before, but it this unit never functioned with the AWSC and your getting the red pulse green pulse continuous, I would check your wiring again! How did you manage to make it work? I spent several hours troubleshooting this yesterday. I have a Base 370z with Sports package. The wires on the car side are red (with grey-blue ASWC wire soldered to it) and dark blue (with grey-pink wire soldered to it). Head unit is Kenwood. ASWC red wire is connected to 12V switched wire (the one that has power only when ignition is ON), Ground (black wire) is connected to the car frame. When turned on I get 7 green blinks (have no idea what this sequence means), then 2 red blinks (which appears to be my Kenwood being detected). Then ASWC goes into continuous red-green blinking mode. When I try to reset ASWC following the manual (press Reset 3 seconds after ignition is turned on, hold for 10 seconds, then release) I get red-green blinking continuously. I also tried the opposite: grey-pink to red and grey-blue to blue. I get exactly the same result. I have the most fresh version of firmware on ASWC. The only thing I didn't try yet is force re-install the firmware and try installing the device again. |

Hello sir, The 7 blinks indicate which wires are connected. For example if wires 2 and 7 were connected you would get the 7 green sequence like this short (1), long (2), short (3), short (4), short (5), short (6), long (7). You are correct that the 2 red flashes are it recognizing your head unit (not sure if kenwood is 2 but you seem to be, I recall that some units had two settings, like pioneer had 2 so check that as well. If you are getting no long blinks then no wires are connected. What I found was wrong with my system was that I had a bad connection therefore it was accepting 0 button inputs from my commands. In my case, I had gray-pink to red and gray-blue to blue. And this was correct for me. I am using a Clarion NX702 but this doesn't matter when it comes to connecting wires. I would recommend using this setup as that's what worked for me. Step 1: in the trouble shooting process is to check and make sure you get long blinks from the first 7 flashes. If not, check all your connections and possibly swap your wires to my setup. The long flashes are very noticeable, initially I was worried that I wouldn't be able to distinguish the long from the short. Step 2: Confirm that 2 flashes is the correct setting for your kenwood, if not, reprogram to the proper setting as per the manual. Step 3: See if you can even enter auto programming mode, which was hold the seek up key if I recall correctly. After I was wired up correctly, the auto program made my volume up and volume down buttons work, confirming the operation of the system. Then manual programming of all the buttons took about 2 minutes. Step 4: if you get long flashes (confirming wires connected), you confirm the 2 red flashes indeed represents your head unit, and cannot progress past the red green flashing stage. There is still an error but I'm guessing this will fix it. I'm guessing your problem is either bad connections or swapped wires. I'm an EE student and I ended up having a bad connection, it can happen to anyone. |
