it might sound a bit like hyperbole, but i am utterly amazed by the great progress you've made in a relatively short time. though when i say short time it isn't to take away from all the hours you've invested in front of computer screen to clean up/modify the model.
not to mention, i've worked on cars my whole life (first my dad's cars, then my older brother's, and finally mine). the ability to create modified versions of a cars plastic components, has always been out of reach of the common guy. watching this project develop is akin to watching the future unfurl in front of my eyes. the possibilities are essentially endless. as far as the tabs themselves. they look super clean and correctly positioned. |

I'm really thankful to have such a supportive community to keep me on track lol. The next thing on the table for the weekend is to clean up some rough patches on the backside. Then attach all the tabs. It's not far now from the redesign for the custom monitor. I am definitely getting close to the point of no return with picking the final monitor though... Once I lay out the area I can not adjust easily for other monitors.

She will be able to handle a lot of commands from what I have read, but will require an active internet connection to do so.
Basic commands such as open X program will work without internet but anything major will need a connection.

As promised here are a few renders of the progress this week and weekend. It may be into next week before I have some more work to show since I am making my move into DC over the weekend. And there is still a lot of packing to do. I will keep diligent of the responses to the thread though so let me know what you think of the progress!!

That kind of what I was thinking maybe voice to Nav if I'm lucky. And things of that sort. I will definitely be playing around with that though.

Just read that Windows 10 will allow its maps program to download maps for offline use and provide directions. Not sure if this will work with Cortana offline by asking for directions but good to know that you will have GPS without needing data.

I am officially moved in, unpacked and back to designing. It is taking some time with the nitpicking job of adjusting each of the points around individually but it is nearly there. The front is in great shape. Main point of focus for me right now is to fix the port for the ignition button to mount and adjust around that area.
I took a few screenshots of the amount of vector points I am dealing with to make this happen. You may understand why this boring part is taking so long, especially if you think that I'm moving these mostly one at a time... I overlayed the original scan in a blue so you can see where the cloth wraps around the stock dash. And also, you can see the low spots that I still have to work through. As a bonus it make the dash look like a spider-man suit LOL! Once I finish the renders I will post them up here later today!

F**k me man so much detail it hurts to think about it X( haha it's looking quite nicely from where you first started man very nice indeed! I mean I'm no pro or anything but that looks on point brotha! Good work haha.
And hey I also wanted to add another idea to consider. Maybe you could have an option where the ignition button can be changed colors with LEDs or something? Or sell the product with material options such as Carbon Fiber, different leather types/colors and stitching too? Just a suggestion for later down the road man. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If you wanted constant wifi, you'd have to have one of those wireless cards, and they are $40 or so a month. So, unless you're a heavy commuter, it may not be worth it

I have been looking into aftermarket starter switches with LED lights so that's definitely a possibility! I kind of agree with @NickTurnon right now. I'm having to decide whether to get the dash piece injection molded through my local contact because of the complexity of the rear tabs. Or make molds to do carbon fiber or fiberglass, which could be fabric/vinyl wrapped, ect. It all comes down to those pesky tabs making things so complicated...
