That's most definitely the closests I have seen. The only thing I can see that is wrong with that one is that both "teeth" go in the same direction. They need to be opposing because they grip the plastic between them. Thanks for the link I may be able to talk to that vendor and get one custom made if one can't be found. :tiphat:

nice work dude!

Nice!

Is that software going to control the HVAC also?

Yes it is! The climate controls will all be integrated into the touch screen.

That looks pretty dope. Can't wait to see it painted.

Hey thanks man! While I was picking up my body filler yesterday I stopped by the local MAACO shop. It was right behind the parts store so I figured I would get a quote while I had the dash handy. So once the prep is done paint here we come!:happydance:

Thanks for the follows guys! Birdman71 the leather and carbon fiber are both definitely in the works ( I personally want Carbon Fiber). A lot of it depends on what process I choose to make the dash either injection molding (very expensive for mold +50k) or resin infusion (cheap molds but high material cost i.e. carbon fiber).

As far as costs right now I am working with vendors to try and get cheaper quality parts to help me to drive the costs down. As it stands now I plan to try my best to keep final costs around $1,500 but at worst no more than $2k. There are many things that are still not known such as wiring like Venom13132 mentioned that still have to be accounted for. Once things begin to solidify and we get near launch I will keep everyone up to speed!

2015nismo as far as ETA I am shooting to be Beta testing by fall 2016 and full product launch by end of 2016 or beginning of 2017. Please keep in mind this all depends on my team meeting deadlines for this to happen. So lets all cross our fingers and hope it all goes as planned. :excited:

Send me a message when you start beta testing this fall and I am volunteering to beta test and I'll leave my car at my shop to have it installed. Post up tons of pics to the thread and send you for your website.

As far as wiring goes, I'm assuming you all have seen these:
Mini Box 12v PSU
That PSU, assuming 80% efficiency, would draw 13 amps...only slightly more than my nav deck, and they have bigger PSU's.
All of their PSU's have three wire hookup, 12V constant, 12V switched or ignition, and ground; with a delayed remote turn on. Not difficult wiring at all, and assuming your whole stereo system is running off an amplifier you can either add a DAC with RCA outs or use 3.5 to RCA adapter to run to the amplifier.
While I wouldn't buy one of their pre-built pc's, you can get better CPU's and Mobo's with the same power requirements and thermal dissapation needs, I would consider their PSU and their mini-itx cases.
Speaking of thermal dissapation, what are the thoughts on computer placement? There is probably room behind the monitor, but the lack of air circulation and the proximity to the heater vents concerns me. Maybe mod the tilt out cubby behind the passenger seat?
Testing will tell for certain, but I'm hoping there is a hardware guy lurking that could answer that...or someone that has done something similar in the past.
Either way I love the way it looks and how it's going.

Nah, I like the direction asorg31 is going. I'll happily wait for his product.

I did see this as well and I've played with their web browser interface app. It's definitely a great design, but like Galeforce was saying it's direction I do not want to go. Plus I really like the idea of integrated climate and the extra features that I get to play with over theirs.

I think brainiac claims to do the climate controls as well, no? Either way, I am looking forward to the release of both of these systems! Really updates the tech side of the Z, and makes me so glad I didn't bother getting the factory tech package.

You are right on that one they do integrate the climate. That was my bad.
