Haha no Arkansan born and raised. I went to a local college there. Most of what I have learned as far as 3d design has either been on the job training or very hard work on my own time and expense. I did have some amazing traditional art teachers and professors over the years whom I learned many needed skills like sketching, painting, etc.

Thanks very much for the kudos though!

I sat down with my user interface designer on Thursday to begin hashing out what I wanted the interface to look like. I am so excited to see where this project is going! Take a look at our first hand drawn sketches and let me know what you guys think! Hope you all are as excited as we are!!

Still looking amazing! I seriously want to do this with my Z if I redo the interior entirely. It would be awesome!

Hmmm... Any ETA? I'm in the process of doing the audio/interior in my car as we speak.

ATOS Triple Scan: GOM

I could give you full 3D scans of the parts if you send me them. I am not willing to take my car apart for this. I would have to do this after hours at work so it could take me a week or two to get it done. The files can be put into solidworks or other 3D drafting software. let me know if you are interested. I live in Indianapolis, so you would have to send me the parts or find someone who has their car apart and does not mind letting me use them. If it was winter I woudnt mind using mine but I drive my car in the summer.

Nice, that machine is like $300,000 or more... sweet piece of kit :)

I'm not sure if you've seen this or not, but there is another company doing something similar for the FRS/BRZ.

I expect I have about 20 hours of 3D design remaining to finalize the dash. Another 20 hours to polish out the 3D print. At least 80 I believe to design the UI. It's a good estimate to guess around 80 for the programmers as well.

So at this point the I expect to have the alpha prototype running by mid January. I plan on taking a 60 days minimum to test and fix any issues found. At which point I will be looking for 3 Beta testers to push the system hard.

I would love to hear from the community and pull some testers from here. If you're interested PM me and let me know how you can help. I will be looking for people who hit the track a lot, have extreme audio affinity, etc.

I sat down last night with my UI Designer to get the first walk through of the phone portion of the interface. This is displayed directly on the screen that will be used for this project. I don't know about you all but I am very happy with the wire-frames. Keep in mind this is not how it will look once it is finished, the idea is to keep it basic and make it function. Once it can function then we get to play with how it will look!

I'd be down to beta test the system :) Car is a daily driver though so It would have to be somewhere close to me so I can get back home and to work easily without a car

How long would installation on something like this be Anthony?

Oh Nice! I had no idea, I will definitely have to check it out! From what I looked over it looks pretty legit!

I am looking into building wiring harnesses that will allow for it to be directly plugged into the factory plugs. with that being said I would estimate 2 hours of install time and another couple of hours to fully configure the system. It would be a good estimate to assume half a day at a local stereo shop or local expert.

I am looking into it now. Over the next couple of weeks I will be discussing with a few developers to do the coding for the interface. I will make sure that this is something that is brought up in those discussions.

If it is possible what is everyone more interested in?

GaleForce 11-03-2015 07:49 PM

+1 for Apple Car play.
