Getting radio interference with aftermarket stereo
Just installed an aftermarket stereo and now the radio is getting some interference. My best guess is.. Its because i didn't ground it.. Could this be it?
I looked for a place to put the ground wire.. But found none and ended up just leaving it.. Where should I ground it?? |
what type of interference? More than likely not a grounding issue.......

It's like the station that's on goes out of range

You probably forgot to pick up the antenna extension harness, then the extra wire you are suppose to hook it up to either the Acc or power wire of your harness. I forget what exact wire, but once you do that, the static is gone

As far as the ground, I hooked up to the bolt underneath the shifter circle trim, I used a wire brush to expose metal under neath the bolt, perfect ground and pretty much next to the radio. It is a plastic type of threading so when you screw in the bolt back in wait a few minutes and then the wire won't move. You'll see what I mean

This is where I ended up grounding it to.. Seems ok now :)
Not sure what that screw holds though.. Lol http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05...9566af18b1.jpg |
sounds like op's not feeding the antenna module the 12v that it needs.
