Pioneer 8100 ... In my Z !
1 Attachment(s)
Hello all , I'm new to the forum but have been lurking for some time now. I find a little of everything in the forum and learned a bunch. I just had a full audio install done and let me say. I'm impressed !
If your on the fence on which HU you want to invest in...and your wallet can handle it, look no further. It sounds great, works like a charm... very snappy going thru menu's , settings , eq , car play, Bluetooth , ect . I have no complaints on the unit whatsoever. The capacitive screen is worth the admission price...it's there when you need it. I took a slew of pics during the 11 hour ,3 guy install. Well 2 of the guys were off and on but we're fucused and did a great job. The system is excellent , plays loud and is tight and clean sound... My build thread coming soon. Thanks again and look forward to community fun here. |
Nice! I'm looking into getting the 4100nex since I don't need the built in navi

Hi
I am getting the 8100 Also, did you reuse the double din trim the car came with and did the metal brackets from the factory radio fit the 8100.
What steering wheel controller did you install if any. Thanks |
We tried the Axcess but it didn't work... they pointed to it being a new model (8100) . The Pac universal worked perfectly. I believe they used the metal brackets but I did purchase the face plate 55 bucks.
The unit is just sooo nice, you can do so much to customize to your liking . Shop around for a good price , retail is $1,400... As most shops will quote. I Was much lower.the guys kept kidding me saying the 8100 is for Balla's only. It was the first they played with. The Navi is sweet... and is easy to use. Car play is neat... Kinda funny having your apple buttons on your car stereo. I do have a 6 plus and it works seamlessly. |
I have the 4100nex in my Honda Element
Pretty cool but the Android phone interphase still sucks and the Pioneer apps suck balls the phone screen has to be on for you to be able and control everything so the Pioneer unit is really only doing a mirror while the phone screen is still on The USB charging is also slow and will eventually kill the phone battery Unless Android Auto gets better or is compatible with more phones this head unit is kinda a waste of money IMO Also in order to bypass the parking brake feature you need a new version delay that goes thru the cycle 3 or more seconds after the Head unit turns on |
Did u have the Bose Head Unit? I'm looking at the 8100 as well but wondering should I keep the Bose speakers or go all out and replace everything.

Ebay
The 8100 go for about 850$ on EBay...

Don't want to start a Apple vs. Android war...but I work for Honda, and the newer products cater to Apple, everything works great. Some features not available on Droids as of yet but promise in the future.
I did not have the Bose system...my system is completely replaced. |

can u guys turn OFF the clock on the 8100?
that's the one feature i HATE on my 4500BT |
Yes, you can turn clock off as well change fonts for style you like.

I've got the 8000NEX in my Z along with the Bose system. I need to tweak it a bit, but for the most part, I'm happy with it. The head unit is pretty amazing, and it's one of the best NAV systems that I've ever had in a vehicle.
|
i dont like you sir. im about to put a system in my car and was going to keep the oem headunit and try to up the sound instead with a jbl-ms8.
but that is the first aftermarket unit i have seen that i have liked in this car. the color matching is great. you might have just been responsible for making me spend a thousand dollars haha. |
The backgrounds colors and themes are endless...you can even adjust the pitch of the colors..everyday I'm amazed at what this thing can do. I have never had so many sources from which to play music from.
SD card, USB thumb drive, CD ,XMSirus, Spotfy, Aha, Bluetooth , FM. Navi system is the best I've used bar non. I went with Phoenix Gold system..awesome sound ! |
nice....
