Default Bose Amp or Not?

I bought a salvage 2012 Roadster Touring model that was hit in the rear. It destroyed the trunk area, and I didn't get the spare tire with the stock Bose subwoofer.
My question is, is it worth buying a used stock Bose subwoofer that fits in the spare ($125 to $175, Ebay) or getting something else? I have the plug in place to just hookup a stock subwoofer and that is tempting.
Or, am I wasting my money on a Bose sub?
