Tried wiring stereo but all I get is static
So I bought an aftermarket stereo and a wiring harness, connected all the wires and all I got was static. I'm too cheap to pay someone so I need some help lol.
Also, there's a second harness that's really small. it hooked up to the corner of the oem stereo but the new stereo doesn't seem to have anywhere to connect that so I left it be, could that have been the issue? |
If you want help from others with experience and at no cost to you, the least you can do is be more specific on your writing and in this case add pictures so we can form a better view of your issues. You scenario is a bit vague on what you did or are about to do. What unit are you trying to replace it with.
If you still have the factory speakers, don't matter what you buy, that is all you are going to get...static. I call the factory speakers "static dischargers". |
agreed, that is a little vague. Static from all sources, or just radio? did you install antenna adapter, and hook it to 12v switched?
|
yeah I think that smaller adapter was for the antenna. Did you get an adapter like this?

I apologize for the vague post, I'll try getting some pics in when I get home from work. But judging from the link ZeroZeta posted I'm sure this was the issue because that's the cable that I left hanging out lol.

you're not the first, nor will you be the last.........lol

So it turns out it was the antenna lol
Only other question I have is where do I connect the metra axxess steering wheel controller at? It says to put it in then 16th pin but I have no clue which one it is even with the instructions lol http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/04...9e33a901e7.jpg |
