Viper Remote Start quote
I always loved the idea of having my car warmed up and ready to go before I even sit down in my car. Anyways, my dad has a friend who owns a big business in wholesaling car stereo and alarms. I went to buy some stuff and saw a shelf filled with Viper remote start alarm. LC3 5706V 2 way. I asked him how much it cost and he said for me, $200 flat out the door.
I wanted to ask if anyone has experience in alarms and if this is a good price. Of course this includes warranty and stuff. |
Considering that this alarm costs $192 on Amazon I'm assuming the "out the door" price you got didn't include labor. These systems are very time consuming to install so expect $400+ for install from a competent installer. I had a very similar system in my last car, a Viper 5901. I never had any issues with it and it had a really good feature set. I used it on both hot and cold days to get the cabin temp nice and comfy. You could actually check the cabin temp from the remote and the range was excellent. Realistically I got anywhere from 1/2 to 1 mile out of it depending on the obstacles (buildings, hills, etc.)
Amazon.com : Viper 5706V 2-way Security System w/Remote : Vehicle Security Complete Systems : Car Electronics As an alternative I know there's someone on this forum that makes a plug and play remote start module for our cars (automatics only) so you wouldn't have to add aftermarket remotes and pay for labor. http://www.the370z.com/engine-drivet...-kit-370z.html |
I purchased the color 2 way Oled security and remote start, audio glass breaker, digital tilt motion sensor, back up battery system, back up battery siren and programmable voice system with installation 1400.
