Default Install (picture heavy)

Finished my install and thought I would post some pics. Its a little different than the systems that I've seen so far.

My setup consists of:

Eclipse 5435
(its old and I'd like to replace it but it just keeps running fine so I cant justify buying a new one. When the time comes though I'll be going back to Pioneer)

MTX TXC6.1 components

2x Kicker 8" cvr

Polk Audio PA 1100.5

I've seen others just poke a hole through this rubber grommet but if you take just a little more time you can pull the electrical tape off and run your power wire through the firewall with the rest of the factory wires giving a cleaner more finished look. imo

I had to weld up a mount for the amp to get it to sit where I wanted it and to be stable. It bolts down to the floor using some factory locations.

In this photo there is a capacitor but I chose not to put it in the car.

Here is the amp rack in its final location

And here is a shot of the car.

Thanks for looking.

Wow! your setup is pretty cool! I would've opted for 10'' subs and would've used the center area as part of the enclosed area. Thanks for the good pics it came out very nice.

Nice! Still thinking I want to fit one 8" or 10" inside the spare tire. Wish someone made an enclosure for that.

I will admit your skills are were mine should be in about another year. Well done, just curious of 2 things. Why did you put the fuse block so far away from the battery and also not where it should be in the engine bay before it goes in the firewall? Also why 2 subs and why facing forward?

Awesome man, nice work. Someone's back is going to be getting punched. Power wire can be run through a factory grommet on the drivers side. There is even a cutout in the pad up under the dash to access it. I agree fuse block should be very close to your battery as well.

Look up a Jeff Smith post for the location. It was made for it. You can even save the factory grommet and drill a hole big enough for you power wire to go through it.

The fuse holder that I had was to big to fit anywhere around the battery comfortably. As I understand it the reason for placing the fuse close to the battery is for safety in case the power wire should be cut our pinched inadvertently, there is no electrical difference between mounting it 8" away or 24" away. Having said that there is not anything between the fuse holder and the battery that can cut or pinch the power wire to ground it out so it is safe where it is.

As for the subs they're kind of an experiment. I've never run 8's before and wanted to try it. I also wanted to try them in the spots behind the seats because no one has done it. There is enough power in the amp to run another sub such as a 12" if I choose to and I can run the 8's as mid bass.
