True that is a great amp, there very powerful and can run basically whatever you want. The fuse should be no more than 12 inches away because any farther it might be able to grab the surge in time, as some people would say. I know what you are saying but I have put a kicker fuse block with the battery and it fit pretty well. As I said good install.

Thanks again for the comments and questions. We'll see how long I can live with just the two 8's. This system sounds really well balanced for now.

If you're talking about the fuse taking the hit vs. the amp then it only needs to be at least 18 inches from the amp. That's the rule of thumb for commercial fire alarms anyways.

@ OP - Very clean work. I had high hopes once I saw the mdf speaker rings for the front door. Got better when you painted them lol. Even though you only consider it as a hobby, your work is top notch.

I'd look into some sort of ported enclosure for the 8" woofers in that location. I had a pair of 8s in my old 240 in a push-pull ported enclosure and it had suprisingly low frequency response but was still clean. (The rear seats weren't in, so it was sharing the same airspace.)

Another idea I toyed with was either 6-1/2" or 8" midbass drivers in the doors and attempting to fab some kick panel enclosures, relocating the tweeters too. I haven't looked into the room available vs. foot room though, doesn't seem promising.

Where did you learn your craft? Obviously, this is not your first stab at it. Any pics of your other masterpieces.

I just get an idea and try it sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, but thats how I learn.

Here are a few of my wifes Si and my old roommates Lexus

These next two aren't audio but I'm learning how to use a milling machine and made the door sills and battery tie down for my wifes car kinda proud of making my own parts no matter how minor.

And one of her first time at the autocross

The IS 300

PPI amp replaced the backs with plexi to show the good stuff

These are the first time I ever did tv's in the headrest. I took them apart so I could wrap the leather over the plastic frame work that you see in most installs. Think its cool how the leather goes right up to the screen with no interruptions.

These are of my last truck, its a big switch going from my dodge to the 370Z considering I'm 6'4" but I love it.

I gutted it the first week I got it to put a little FATMAT in.

Gotta do something about the semi circles around the deck.

My friends 07 Mugen Civic Si is boosted and he didn't have a good spot for the gauges so I came up with this. I took an aftermarket double din dash kit and molded the gauges in the top part and left enough room for a single din head unit to fit below them.

This is my favorite Install to date. Great bang for the buck. I think it would look better in a Red Z!
Your location for the Subs is my preferred choice………..what little that is lost in Sonics, you gain in usable space.

I concur! And what is just as impressive, it looks like all of this work is done out of his home garage.

Damn that stuff is sweet.
I wondered how you got the shape, and I see you masking tape the contour then FG it and pull it out.

Yea I use a layer of tape then cover the tape with aluminum foil to be sure the resin doesn't soak through, it also helps the mold come out easier. Be sure to let the mold dry fully before you pull it out as it can warp while drying, so you stand a better chance of it being correct if you let it fully cure in place. I learned that one hard way.
