Sub/Amp reccommendations...
I'm looking for a single 12" sub and amp to run it. I want clean, tight, hard hitting bass, but don't want or need something over the top. Looking to spend $250 total. I'm thinking 500+ watts for both. I've been out of the audio scene for years and am hoping someone can point me in a close direction.
I have an Alpine MRP M500 amp in my truck with an higher end Infinity 12, they do ok, the sub could be better. I bought an Appradio 3 for the HU and plan on upgrading the factory speakers and adding rears to the mix. Last edited by LAVA; 01-20-2015 at 07:16 PM. |

After reading the other thread I just picked up a pair of Focal IC 165's. I had a hard time deciding between the those and the IS 165's. I think I'll install the IC's and decide if I like them, if not maybe I'll sell them and get the IS's. My gut is telling me I should have bought the IS's |

My Head unit is the Pioneer P99. arguably the best head unit you can get in terms of not only sound quality, but processing ability. It ran $1500 years back when I picked it up, and I would have paid twice that after installing it, and listening to it.
My other JBL amp is the MS1004 400 watt 4 channel. this amp runs my 4 tweeters. the other 2 amps in the upper corners are the pioneer PRS D800 2 channels. Each one is bridged to 300 watts, and run my Midwoofers. In the center of those 2 amps is just a digital voltmeter. As far as a capacitor is concerned... save your $$ they do nothing.
