Aux input and Microphone Exhaust Question

Before I waste money on a microphone got a simple question.

My headunit has an Aux input (3.5mm stereo connection). What I'm thinking of doing is to run a microphone through the trunk outside near the exhaust area and then when I feel the need for speed I could select the Aux input, and listen to the VQ37 inside the cabin. Is this possible? Has anyone done this?

No offense, but this may be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.

Or why settle for the stock V6 sound when you could more easily upgrade to something more exotic:
