Default What does holding down traction control do?

Has anyone else noticed that if you hold down the traction control button after a while the traction control light will turn off and it won’t come back on. The traction control off indicator light won’t come back on no matter how many times you press the button untill you restart the car. What does that do?

There is no hidden feature you mysteriously found after all these years. If there was, we would have all known about it.

Sorry, I was using talk to text while driving. I edited it so you could understand the question better.

Get in your car. Press the traction control button. The TC off indicator on the gauge cluster will illuminate. Now press the button again. This time though don’t let it go. Hold it down. In about ~10 seconds the light will turn off even though you haven’t let go of it. Now press the button again. nothing will happen, no VDC off light will come on. Press it all you want the TC system won’t respond. I feel like TC is off when it is like this but the status is not displayed.
Restarting restores normal functionality.

My girlfriend has a Versa. It also has the same button and it does the same thing when you hold it down. Whatever it does isn’t unique to the Z.
