Device on 370z under steering wheel?

So i just bought a cpo 2012 370z from the dealer a couple months back and had a question regarding a weird looking device under the steering wheel. Next to the hood latch. So i jusy wanted to know if anymore knows what it is and if anyone has this device on their Z. Thanks for any info!

My guess is that it's a locator so they can find the car to repo it if needed.

I read about this somewhere, if U financed it and UR credit isnt all that great it is a locator and they can remotely shut the engine off if no pay,,im just guessing.
