power steering fluid

Hello all, Okay today I went to Nissan to change my oil and they told me I need to replace the power steering fluid on my 2010. Which is the best fluid to buy...Redline D6 ATF?

Try using one of the major web search engines and add "site:the370z.com" to your search string.

To drain the PS, just remove the hose going to the cooler - easy. Getting to the hoses is a royal PITA.
You can also suck the fluid out of the reservoir but you can't get it all.

Detailed procedure should be in the FSM but I haven't looked.

dude I already look in every search engines know to men. I google, youtube, search pictures and all the forums. nothing came up for 370z DIY.

One of the PS cooler DIYs will have what you need.

Opening up a line might open up more issues down the line. Total capacity of power steering isn't that much - a little over a qt according to the fsm . When I do mine I'll just suck out and replenish a few times.

how to bleed powersteering.....

Edit: What about undoing the return hose from the reservoir, connect a length of stiff hose to it, route it to an empty 1 gal container of some sort then start the car up for a few seconds? That will allow the pump itself to empty out the fluid. Running it for a few seconds shouldn't cause any damage?

I'm gonna just do it the easy way. sucking out the old stuff and replenish a few times also. Bleeding just sound like its too much trouble. Did you jacked the front up?

i usually use the turkey baster method and then re do it every few hundred miles

i used the factory steering fluid when i did the baster change. it comes in a tiny bottle though..
