Western North Carolina questions

Hey guys,

I just moved from Florida to the Asheville area and was wondering if I will now have to remove my ART Pipes because of emissions checks. I am in buncombe county. Any way to keep my setup the way it is? Stillen G3->ART Pipes->F.I. 18" resonated exhaust.

Hey man, this probably belongs in the Southeast region. To answer your question, no, you will not need to as long as you are not throwing any check engine light. Buncombe county does an OBD emissions inspection only and does not do the tailpipe emissions inspection.

Also, welcome to Asheville. Lived there for a good bit of time. Come out to Cars and Coffee down in Greenville this Saturday if you can. It's a 45 minute or so drive from you, but it's worth it to see some cars and talk to folks.

Thanks for the info! I do actually have a CEL from running to rich after adding the ART pipes; I really just need a tune. Hopefully I can get that done before next June when I would have to renew my registration.

Thanks for the invite to C&C! I won't be able to make it for a few weeks as I'm still running back and forth to Florida on the weekend to tie up some loose ends. So far Asheville is awesome and I'm really excited to be here.
