Annoucement: Downtime on Saturday 11.23.13, restoring missing usernames etc (AK370Z)

Dear THE370Z members

This past Saturday was one of the most stressful days I have had in a while. Before I go any further, I’d like to honestly apologize for THE370Z downtime on Saturday 11.23.13. We have tried our best to minimize it (downtime) but it just wasn’t happening. For that, I’d like to apologize to each and every one of you . I should also mention that I have posted an announcement on our Forum FB page but then I have realized that not everyone is a fan of our page or have FB. I usually post updates on our FB page etc when forum goes down, so if you have a FB I highly recommend you to “LIKE” the page. I do not spam. Our main goal for this downtime was to fix some of the false “private message notification issue” and restore those members account (dmhenderson, TheDreamer, DJTodd, Jasonle, gurneyeagle etc). We had a strategy and some things we wanted to try. But soon things started going NOT according to plan and at one point we were STRONGLY considering plan B which was to restore the forum from (weekly) backup which meant that we would lose all data since last Sat . However, thanks to a fellow Nissan Enthusiast (a Zenki S14 enthusiast to be exact ) and his thinking outside the box, not only we were able to bring the forum back to how it was before, we were able to recover all those missing accounts! Whoooot! That feeling of relief when we brought back the forum perfectly and the missing usernames – can’t be described! If you’re one of those members who had their username missing and I have asked you to make a new (temporary) username for the time being, please pm or visitor message me that username. I’d like to remove it. Also, you should LOG IN with your old username. If you're having problem, please let me know.

I opened the forum on Sunday at 1:05 pm EST. Things have been working well. I was aware of the database error this morning but they should be gone now. If you’re still getting them, feel free to pm me.
