40th Anniv

For those that have not seen the 40th Anniv in person and wondering if it has a purple tinge to it. IT DOES! Nasty eggplant look. Almost clashes with the wheels. Just sayin.

It looked dark grey to me and I thought it went really well with the wheels!

I did not see any "nasty eggplant" when I saw it last weekend, and the wheels matched pretty well.

Yes under florescent lights it does give off a hint of purple.

That would explain it, I only saw it outside.

I saw the purple outside in natural light as well.

I stand corrected, I will have to take a look at it outside.

I saw it outside here last weekend - I could see where the color of this version could vary greatly depending on the lighting. I still can't believe they chose this color - on the drive back from the dealer, I saw no less than 3 new Camaro's in a color that very closely resembles this. The salesman said Nissan did extensive research and polling of public opinion on colors before choosing it. Oddly enough, I wasn't sure I'd like the red interior but seeing it in person made me a believer for that setup.

The primary reason for the visit was that this dealer had the Black Cherry - we arrived around 5:30 PM and most of the 370Z's were sitting in the shade - I had a real hard time telling the difference between the Black Cherry coupe and the Black coupe. I'm sure in broad daylight they are quite easy to differentiate.

I've decided my first choice now is Le Mans Sunset Orange - too bad its not offered yet. :rofl2:

Hey, from what I understand, women see more shades of color than men do, so maybe that had something to do with it?

Hey, I represent that remark! Actually, men can be colorblind, women cannot. But I, too, saw the purple. Very cool metalflake, subtle. I believe Porsche has something similar.

I just bought one, definitely has a purple tint under some light...outside and inside

Nasty eggplant? Purchased mine last night, and I saw a beautiful color that does a nice job of picking up the red color in the interior. Regardless, it's a sweet ride.
