well, from my perspective the OP used the term 'misfortune' and that didn't settle very well.
i too would be pissed if my car was stuck at the port and washed away after a long wait, but then considering the total perspective i would consider my situation 'bad luck' than anything more and move on to find alternatives.
misfortune is a heavy word...perhaps the OP doesn't know 英語 (english) very well.
