I went to the Twin Cities Auto Show this past Wednesday and saw a black cherry 370Z at the Nissan floor and it was beautiful.
Now the lighting on their show floor was slightly dim so the black cherry 370Z color was really not as striking in low light. Anyway, I was too busy looking at the car to be impacted by the color.
Besides the color stereotype, black cherry does look kind of maroon which I have come to dislike.
Story: I had driven a maroon '92 Camry jalopy for a couple of years and when I was finally able to get rid of it, I was forced to give into a maroon '04 Sienna because the person who I was going to share the vehicle with didn't like grey or tan, they didn't even like black or white, talk about being a partypooper.
We originally wanted blue, but the dealer didn't have that color.
Not getting the color you want still irks me to this day which is why I was going to get it "right" this time when I get my own car.
