First off I'd just like to give everyone here a big thanks @the370z.com for watching the video. FYI...we be releasing more every few weeks beginning in April.

Also I'd like to clarify that this video WAS NOT produced by Import Tuner, it was shot simultaneously with the testing for an article that appeared in that magazine. I apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

Additionally I like to address some issues raised pertaining to the dynamometer data;

Quote:
^ 326 at the wheels after the tune seems like dynapac numbers...not mustang dyno
This test was conducted on EFI Logics's Mustang AWD-500 SE

Quote:
Roughly 284 HP baseline is a little high to begin with too, no?
Short answer; NO.
Long answer: Its a really subjective question that's hard to answer without putting it in context (i.e in comparison to: a different type/brand of dyno, another Mustang AWD-500 SE, different/identical ambient weather conditions and correction factors, similar age/condition of engine, exact fuel/grade and quality). Having seen and pulled literally hundreds of runs on many different types of dynos, I can safely say that baseline numbers can vary up to 5% even with the same car, on the same day and on the same dyno. So trying to compare numbers from different dynos isn't 1:1.

Quote:
agreed! 27 HP gain with exhaust alone???
To clarify the cat-back+HFC together gained 27hp and yes it was hard for us to believe as well. In fact I had four additional pulls made just to see if this was an aberration, however all four yielded nearly identical results.

Quote:
lol yes but not really important...seems like numbers were inflated for the sake of the video
The data presented in the video comes verbatim from the Mustang's software .run file.

Also, stillen pretty much shot themselves in the foot by sponsoring this video since it shows that their CAI yields minor gains when paired with the HFC and cat-back.
For the record; we are an autonomous media company who conducts independent product reviews and testing, Stillen did not pay for, nor had any control over the results presented in this production.
Also djpathfinder is absolutely correct. Gains are rarely (if ever) cumulative, the order in which we install the parts can have a great influence on the performance of any one mod. I would speculate that had the order of installation been reversed, I believe we'd see the same total gain, but observed a more even distribution of gains between the exhaust and CAI.

they must have added extra load on the dyno so it will read higher...
All test conditions and dyno parameters remained consistent throughout the runs. Also I have to say that Chris is one of the most honest and strait-forward tuners/shop owners I've ever worked with. Any implication that he/we intentionality "inflated" numbers is an erroneous and ignorant statement.

Quote:
I've spoken to two places that do dyno plus internet searches and all of them said that mustang dyno is supposed to read lower
What I believe your referring to, is that a loaded dyno (i.e Mustang, Dyno Dynamics ect.) will read lower than an inertia dyno such as a Dynojet. While this is generally true, the actual HP/TQ numbers of any chassis dynamometer are (at best) estimations. What is relevant however, are the % of gains made vs baseline. Which should remain relatively consistent dyno to dyno, given similar ambient conditions and correction factors.

Were you high when they were recording this??
No illicit substances were harmed during the taping of this video.
It was his first time modifying and seeing his Z on a dyno, so he was (understandably) a bit "concerned". Unfortunately for him, I was there with a camera to document every moment of it. Thanks Rich! As far as the other footage he is referring to, there will eventually be an extended version with additional footage, deleted scenes and additional installation info. But for now we thought 3:37min was just enough.

Please feel free to send us your comments, suggestions, and corrections to feedback@intaketv.com

Thanks Again
