Andy, as many members suggested, you could try to do a private trade to avoid further money loss - this may take a while; the tricky part will be to get the trade where both parties are satisfied with things like mileage, upkeep... Another option you might find worthy is to keep the car and slightly modify it to fit your needs.
** Road noise: easy/cheap fix is to dynamat the trunk & door maybe floor if you feel like.
