Once you drop the car, the camber sucks the wheels in and you might wish you had gotten a more aggressive offset or different tire.
I have the exact widths/offsets you mentioned above on my Forgestars. With stock height, your car might look a little funny with those tire sizes because they're both smaller than stock. Just a thought. 245/40 and 295/35 might be an optimal choice for a stock height car.

Actually, 255/305 is larger than stock (245/275), but they will look fine and FUNCTION fine. A lot of people are running the same combo (and some at stock height with stock wheels). I think it will fit in the wheel wells properly given that the offsets are correct. RARWZ, Are you looking for slightly or moderately aggressive (flush vertically with the wheel well) or extremely aggressive (approaching hella flush)? If you're looking for slightly or moderately, then err the offset on the slightly conservative side. If going extremely aggressive, get those offsets close to 0 or even a little negative, then play around with lots of negative camber front and back to make them fit. Plus, the more "hella flush" you go, the more you'll have to lower.
From what I gather (correct me if I'm wrong) it sounds like you want to maintain stock height and want to go either slightly or moderately aggressive. My suggestions for offsets in my earlier post was meant for that. 255/305 tires should work out fine, so long as the wheel widths are within what the tire manufacturer recommends.
