I always associate a sports car with a sense of immediacy; being ready to go, crisp handling, ready to rev, etc.

The Mustang feels bumbling. It handles well, but would prefer to go straight. The car epitomizes a cruiser. While driving it, one understands just why it's the preferred choice of teenagers who want to cruise around town on a Friday night. I'd compare it to a Dodge Charger, but in coupe form (I've not driven a Charger, but I've heard they handle well).

Somehow, despite its nature, it's a very competent car. I wouldn't call it a sports car, though.

Drive an 05+ Mustang if you get the chance & try to leave your prejudices behind. It's a different experience than a Z, but it's a fun car all of its own.
