I was going to reduce the x-section area from the fender liner flange to the end of the duct nearest the rotor to increase the velocity.
This is not going to be a quick turn around based on my current schedule but I'll show pics when I'm closer.

I was planning on initiating at the fang. The fang isn't round but the shape is smooth enough that I think it would be efficient even if the shapes aren't a perfect match.
Putting the reducer at the fender liner would be a good place for it, there seems to be enough room up to that point for the 3" duct.
