So getting an oil cooler is highly recommended, I got that. I drove Latigo back in January and managed to get the temps up to 240-260 but didn't go into limp mode. With spring and summer just around the corner, engine oil temps are at the forefront of my thoughts when I drive.

In preparation for Ojai, I'm debating right now between the Stillen 19-core and 25-core. I drive the street pretty hard and I enjoy spirited weekend canyon runs (ie Turnbull, GMR, and Malibu). I'm also thinking of hitting up some of the parking lot events in Irwindale for some autocross/gymkhana action. Would it be overkill to get the 25-core if I don't plan on doing any engine mods? My other concern is having cold engine oil, I'm not even sure what the optimal engine oil temps are for the VQ37VHR? Right now I'm lined up to pick up the 19-core oil cooler kit from Stillen next Saturday.

Anyone care to chime in?

Also, this is kind of a silly question to ask. I recently had my first oil change at 2600 miles and so far I've driven about ~500 miles. Would it be advisable to reuse that oil after I install the oil cooler kit? In other words, drain all of the oil into a clean pan, install the kit, and refill with the same oil and add in some additional oil to compensate for the lines and cooler.

Thanks guys.
