You can paint the plastic easily. Better to use a high-temp paint, though. Like a Duplicolor Engine Enamel (good to 500*). I used it to paint my engine cover on my old Z and my valve covers on my new Mustang. Good stuff and it applies very well if you take your time to clean the surface before you paint.
