Good point. With our recent economic devastation and Nissan negative
Nissan North America Announces October Sales 11.03.08 sales, Nissan will do anything to sell this car. They ARE aware of other car prices (i.e. V6 Camaro starting at 23,xxx with 300 HP). I think the new Z SHOULD start at 31500. It's exactly 2000 more than the current model. With all the new changes, I think that's expected.

I really only want a base model or maybe the next model up, I had the enthusiast 350Z and that was plenty fine for me

I ALWAYS like my sports car - the lightest model available. As for 350Z, the base is the lightest model (NOT Nismo). I think Enthusiast gives you the best bang for your buck.
On our new 370Z, I think the base Z + Sports Package = Best deal
