I've yet to take mine to the dealer only because it's such a pain and I'm not 100% trust worthy of the dealer to work on my car. Tried finding a walk through on how to adjust the latch myself but no luck so far. Between that and the buzz rattle I got behind the gauge cluster after swapping exhaust it's really put me off regarding this car. My previous 09 with the same exhaust was perfect and never had a single rattle or flaw. Wish my 09 had never been totaled. Only plan to keep my Nismo for another year or so, basically until the 2012 Z gets announced and hopefully upgraded or until the new C7 Vette comes out. I had planned to keep my 09 for a very long time but this 2010 will not stay with me very long.
Now THAT makes perfect sense. I did a little bit of investigation into it myself, actually crawling into the trunk while my wife drove the car. Well...partially crawled in. I could only fit my upper back in there but got my head right where the noise was.

It IS the latch--and it's only on certain bumps. So the latch being made for the hatch without the added weight of the rear spoiler makes perfect sense. I wonder what the dealer would do to fix that though. It seems accessible just from taking off the weather stripping and then the black plastic paneling.

Maybe they'll just line the latch piece with felt?! lol. Wait--that's a good idea--or maybe a thin sheath of rubber? Hmmm.
