I do have one other car under my list to look at, happens to be a Evo X, one reason i dont really want to buy it is the warranty is horrible compared to Nissan's, and the car itslef is pretty high maintenance, is it the same on the Z too maintence wise?
I think you should be able to get a good price for the car, I'd work to get it at 28k.

As far as maintenance, it depends on what you are used to. I don't think the Z is that bad, but the EVO isn't much worse.
I'd also take a look at the STI, or the WRX if maintenance is more of a concern. Not that you couldn't drive the Z year round, I just wouldn't want to, both from a safety and a car-care perspective. Subaru's warranty is pretty solid as well.
