Unless you are insecure about what you have, then it shouldn't take anything away. Likewise, having privilege doesn't mean that everything you have is because you are white. That's a strawman. I'm not arguing that. I'm arguing that you've been giving certain advantages in life because of your race and gender.
"White privilege" isn't some sort of made up thing. For what it's worth, there is also black privilege, straight privilege, male privilege and a host of others. It isn't a negative thing to have them.
They just are. You didn't ask for them. Neither did your parents. Having or not having a privilege does not mean you ask for handouts or deny them.
It just is. There are certain advantages you have because of who you are. Being born in America (or anywhere else in the western world) could be seen as privilege.
