You would lose a good bit of power if you ran a nitrous tune with no nitrous. Nitrous raises cylinder pressure significantly requiring a decrease in timing. The more nitrous the more you need to retard the timing. If you ran with no nitrous and your timing retarded there would be a noticeable decrease in power.

The fix for this is to have a device that retards the timing when you spray the nitrous. Don't know of a specific device compatible with the 370, but I'm sure you can find something.
