also that cheap cloth roof.
I personally view a convertible not as a performance car but a car for cruising on warm days. and there is always the issue of tracks not accepting stock convertibles.
if I REALLY wanted a convertible car I would of bought a Z4 same HP(though I noticed the new one has 340) and a metal roof. I saw the roof coming up and down at a car show and it was sex.

The aesthetics of the 'vert vs. the coupe is a matter of taste, but to say something is not a performance car simply because it is a convertible is silly. There have been plenty of convertible cars with exceptional performance. The fact that most tracks don't let them in has more to do with lawsuit aversion than the performance of the vehicle -- Your Honda Fit is welcome, but not your ~155 mph Z roadster ...
I could have gotten a Z4 .. or a Boxster. But at the time I bought my Z, those models couldn't match the performance and I preferred the styling of the Z. Also those things are like flies around here. I might see two or three a day especially during the summer.
