A well designed coilover system will not change handling in a bad way at all. Assuming you get the appropriate adjustable suspension pieces that are recommended for lowering (camber and toe mainly) and align and corner-balance the car you will be amazed at how much better the car is at handling everything from normal daily driving to track.

The car does handle incredibly well from the factory, but that doesn't mean it can't be improved.
