I drive mine every day and it has been in the snow and on wintry roads for most of it's life. The car drives fabulously, of course I do have snow tires on it but it's never even spun a tire once... unless I wanted it to.

Those traction things might work and their a convenient size but be careful with them. Anything under the tire can become a projectile, you shouldn't be spinning the tires anyway but just be aware.
